The Dutchman wants a defender, midfielder and a forward

Now that Ronald Koeman is the manager of Barcelona he gets the wonderful chance to speculate about what Barcelona big-name transfer targets he wants to bring in this summer. Then immediately get those transfer fund requests rejected by Bartomeu.

AS are reporting that there are three main players that Barcelona’s newest manager is targeting. Lautaro Martinez is obviously the name at the top of the list. However, unless Barcelona can make Luis Suarez four years younger, there’s not really a great chance a Lautaro deal gets done without significant money on the table.

The two other players are Manchester City’s Eric Garcia and Ajax’s Van de Beek. It remains to be seen if Koeman’s hiring increases any more flexibility in the transfer budget this summer. But I’m going to go ahead and report that it doesn’t. Barcelona don’t have a plethora of cash lying around, and unless they can manage to offload a few midfielders this summer, there isn’t a chance of Lautaro Martinez coming to Barcleona.
