Manchester City set €23 million price tag for Eric García - report
Barcelona now know how much they need to pay to sign the young defender this summer
After officially declining a new contract to signal his intent of leaving Manchester City, Eric García is now just waiting to find out when he’s coming to Barcelona, who are the clear frontrunners to sign the 19-year-old defender. And now Barça know how much they have to pay for the young man.
His contract expires next summer and the Blaugrana could sign him on a free transfer ahead of the 2021-22 season, but multiple reports say Barça want García to join the club this summer. And according to Diario Sport Manchester City are asking for 23 million euros to sell him now.
That isn’t a bad price at all for a player of García’s potential, but it’s also a lot of money for Barça considering the club’s financial struggles and the current pandemic climate. Another issue is that other teams around Europe now know exactly how much City are asking for García, and they could convince the young man to give up on his dream of playing for Barça with the right offer so the Blaugrana must act quickly.
