Papers: Barca thinking about Neymar, Koeman deal close
Some interesting headlines for Monday
Monday’s front pages in Spain make for some interesting reading as the fallout from Barcelona’s Champions League exit continues.
Mundo Deportivo are focused on the managerial situation and report the prospect of Ronald Koeman replacing Quique Setien in the dugout is getting nearer.
‘Koeman Closer’ is their headline with news the Dutchman is close to an agreement and will sign on for two seasons at the Camp Nou.
Barca reportedly see Koeman as the best candidate currently. They like his commitment to attacking football, his work with a young Dutch team and ability to handle a difficult dressing room.
The Catalans have already been in touch with his agent and the Netherlands national team to find a way to release his from his contract.
Meanwhile, Sport seem to have decided that the way to fix Barcelona’s problems is to bring Neymar back to the club.
‘Barca Think About Neymar Again’ is their headline with a report that Josep Maria Bartomeu wants “drastic change” and thinks the Brazilian is the only player able to make an instant impact.
So how are Barcelona going to afford Neymar? Well, Sport say €50-60 million plus one Antoine Griezmann should do the trick, although Neymar might have press for an exit too.
