Rakitic return to Sevilla ‘very difficult, if not impossible’ - Monchi
The midfielder has been linked with a summer move
Sevilla sporting director Monchi has been talking about rumors Ivan Rakitic could return to the club from Barcelona and made it clear he thinks it’s unlikely to happen.
Rakitic has admitted it would be a “dream” to head back to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, while Barca are said to be willing to sell.
Yet Monchi thinks it’s a tough deal to do financially for his side and it not expecting the Croatian to return any time soon.
“Ivan’s a player that, for what he’s said, would like to return to Sevilla one day,” he said.
“Would I personally want him back? I don’t hide that he’s my friend, but as of today it’s very difficult, if not impossible.
“More difficult things have happened in football, but I don’t see it in the short term. It’s so difficult financially that I don’t see it.”

Recent reports have suggested Barcelona would be willing to accept €10m for Rakitic who will be out of contract at the end of next season and able to leave for free.
