Setién talks starting XI for Napoli, Arthur, Dembélé, Ansu, Puig and his future
The boss spoke to the press on Friday
Barcelona manager Quique Setién spoke to the press on Friday to preview Barça’s decisive Champions League Round of 16 match against Napoli at Camp Nou. Barça need a 0-0 draw or a victory to advance to the Playoffs in Lisbon.
Quique touched on many topics, including a few tough ones, and here are some of the highlights from his press conference:
On the starting XI for Napoli
The lineup for tomorrow has been decided a few sessions ago. The positions of certain players could vary, but the lineup has indeed been decided.
On his future
It has never crossed my mind that this is my last game in charge, we have been preparing the match as though we are going to advance and continue.
On Arthur
I spoke to him before he left, the truth is I haven’t spoken to him since, all I know is what the club tells me, I hope things would be different but at the moment I can’t say anything else.
On Ousmane Dembélé
We though about the possibility of naming him in the squad, but unfortunately he has had very few training sessions with the group, he doesn’t have great confidence and I think the best decision is not to call him up.
On Napoli
They have improved in many aspects since we faced them, they continue to progress. They have a lot of possession under Gattuso but also know how to defend well, and how to attack and create problems. We have studied them a lot and are looking to minimize their potential. It is a team that can hurt us with the ball, good combinations, improved possession, very disciplined defending. It will be a match full of alternatives.
On Ansu Fati and Riqui Puig
They are both available and have always played well for us. Both have a chance to start.
