Trincão, Pedri, Aleñá, Matheus, and Oriol to start training as Barcelona first teamers
The five are expected to start their training next week
Francisco Trincão, Pedri, Carles Aleñá, Matheus Fernandes, and Oriol Busquets are expected to start training as Barcelona first-teamers next week, with an eye towards starting pre-season with the team soon thereafter.
They will not play for the Catalans this season, as they are not eligible yet. However, they would start adapting to life as a first-team player. Then, they would start pre-season with the club. From then, we shall see if they remain with the team or if they are loaned out.
It’s understood the first three (Trincão, Pedri, and Aleñá) would be the most likely to remain at Barcelona. It’s more of a question with the other two, who could be loaned. Oriol is said to have offers from several La Liga clubs. Meanwhile, Matheus is rumored to have interested AS Monaco.
They will not meet with the rest of the senior squad if Barcelona passes by Napoli in the UEFA Champions League, as the blaugrana would then travel to Lisbon to finish out the tournament.
Trincão (Braga), Pedri (Las Palmas), and Matheus (Valladolid) were bought by Barcelona in the middle of the season but are not set to join until the transfer window opens.
Meanwhile, Aleñá (Real Betis) and Oriol (Ajax) were loaned out.
Aleñá is the one player from this list who has previously played with the first team, and the only one to have played for Barcelona this season.—
