The Chilean says Barcelona are the world’s best

Arturo Vidal knows Bayern Munich are confident ahead of Friday’s Champions League quarter-final but has warned his former team they will face a tough test against Barcelona.

The Bundesliga champions are favorites to win the game and progress to the semi-finals, but Vidal reckons his team remain a force to be reckoned with.

Vidal also said the Barca players want to prove themselves after a difficult season that has seen them lose their La Liga title to rivals Real Madrid.

“Bayern will be confident but they must know that tomorrow they’re not playing any old team in the Bundesliga, they’re playing against Barca,” he said.

“I understand the pessimism but we are the best team in the world. The problem is that we don’t always show it on the pitch and we recently lost the league. But we have Leo, we have the best players and we want to prove ourselves.”

Vidal is expected to return to Quique Setien’s starting XI for Friday’s match after missing the last-16 second leg win against Napoli due to suspension.
