Their bloated squad is becoming a real problem

Francisco Trincao is reportedly the only Barcelona youngster guaranteed a place in the first-team next season.

Sport are reporting the Portugal international will be part of the senior squad and is likely to take Antoine Griezmann’s old No. 17 number.

However, the club have apparently still not decided what to do with youngsters such as Ronald Araujo, Riqui Puig, Pedri and even Ansu Fati. Perhaps they should ask the fans?

According to the report, the original idea was for all four to be promoted to the first-team but plans have changed slightly because Barca are struggling to offload players.

It could even be that the quartet end up being registered with Barcelona B because then their salaries aren’t included with the first-team which helps the club financially.

Pedri may even end up spending the season away from the Camp Nou. Las Palmas have the option to take the 17-year-old back on loan, while there are other clubs interested too.
