The saga shows no sign of ending

Jorge Messi’s meeting with Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has reportedly ended after an hour and a half with no agreement between the two parties.

According to multiple reports, Messi’s father and brother, Rodrigo, met Bartomeu and director Javier Bordas but there’s stil complete stalemate over the Barcelona captain’s future.

Messi’s camp remains of the same opinion as before the meeting. They say the 33-year-old remains committed to leaving and thinks he can go for free.

Barcelona insist that is not the case, reckon Messi can only leave if his €700 buyout clause is met and think he should be currently taking part in pre-season training.

The Catalan giants are also refusing to sell Messi, are not willing to negotiate an exit and ideally want their captain to sign a new two-year deal.

Negotiations will surely have to continue to try and find a solution, but there’s no sign of an end in sight to his one yet unfortunately.
