Aguero talks Messi: We’re like an old married couple

The striker’s opened up on his friendship with the GOAT

Sergio Aguero has been talking about his friendship with Barcelona captain Lionel Messi and reckons the pair are like “an old married couple.”

The two players have known each other since they were 17 and regularly room together on international duty.

Aguero opened up a little bit on what it’s like when they are together and told TV show Santo Sábado (via Sport) that Messi is “a big whiner.”

The Manchester City man explained: “I always fall asleep with the TV on and the next morning he’s always complaining.”

Aguero also spoke about how Messi hates being late, while he tends to have a more laid-back approach to life.

“For example, we get back to the hotel at 19.30 and we’re eating at 21.00,” he said.

“There’s time. But Leo’s in the shower straight away and ready. I’m there in my boxers and talking on my phone...

“Time passes and with half an hour to go, he starts: ‘We’re eating a 21.00, in 30 minutes...’ I’m still there on my phone and he’s going: ‘10 minutes to go. We always arrive late. We’ve been here for an hour...’

“And then I get ready. The bad vibes start and he doesn’t like arriving late!”

Messi’s is currently in Bolivia preparing for today’s World Cup qualifier. Aguero is still recovering from injury after undergoing knee surgery in June.
