Ferran Sarsanedas had the armband last season but has stepped down due to injury problems, while Monchu also captained the side but has now joined Girona on loan.
Collado was also linked with a move to Girona but has decided to stay and says he’s determined to force his way into Ronald Koeman’s thinking.
“I want to succeed at Barça. I was trained at La Masia and I decided to continue in the Barcelona B because I want to convince Koeman.”
The 21-year-old was on the fringes of the first-team squad last season and was a regular in training sessions under Quique Setien.
Yet he was sidelined with a metatarsal injury in July and had only just returned to training when he picked up a muscle problem that’s expected to keep him out for two months.
