Barca vote of no confidence close to reaching target
Wednesday could be a decisive day for the club
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu looks set to face a vote of no confidence as less than 1,000 signatures are now needed to force the motion.
According to Sport, a total of 15,557 signatures have now been verified. Don’t forget 16,521 are needed for the no confidence vote to go ahead.
That target looks set to be reached tomorrow when the counting starts again and the final 3,715 signatures are checked.
If, as expected, the number of verified signatures is reached then a referendum will be called. Elections will take place if two-thirds of voters go against the president.
There have been reports that Bartomeu could resign before any referendum happens and we certainly looks set for some interesting times ahead. Again.
