Ter Stegen aiming to be fit in time for El Clasico
The goalkeeper had knee surgery over the summer
Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is reportedly aiming to return to action in time for El Clasico at the Camp Nou on October 24.
The Germany international is yet to feature this season after undergoing surgery on a knee injury back in August.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Ter Stegen is in the final stages of his recovery and his “intention“ is to play against Real Madrid.
Sport also report the goalkeeper is “pushing hard” to get back to full fitness and “would love” to face Los Blancos.
Ter Stegen is yet to return to training with Barcelona but has been showing off his progress on social media.
It’s not known yet if Ter Stegen will make it in time with the clash now less than two weeks away. If not then No. 2 stopper Neto will continue to deputise between the sticks for Ronald Koeman’s side.
