Ter Stegen back in Barcelona training
The German is closing in on a return
Barcelona received a boost on Thursday as goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen returned to training for the first time since undergoing knee surgery in August.
The Germany international took part in the workout with the rest of the team, while Samuel Umtiti also participated in part of the session.

Ter Stegen’s return suggests he’s close to making his first-team return. Barca play Alaves, Dynamo Kiev and Real Betis in the next week before the international break.
Neto has done a pretty good job while Ter Stegen has been out, but there’s no doubt that Ronald Koeman will be happy to have his No. 1 available again.

Meanwhile, Umtiti’s been almost forgotten about during his latest injury absence. The center-back has slipped down the pecking order in the last couple of seasons but his return to fitness will be a boost given Ronald Araujo has been ruled out with hamstring trouble.
