The teenager has joined from Ajax

USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter has been talking about Sergino Dest and what Barcelona can expect from their new right-back.

The 19-year-old has made the switch from Ajax and has already made his debut, coming on as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Sevilla.

Berhalter has talked up what kind of player the teenager is and also where he feels he needs to improve in an intervew with Mundo Deportivo.

“I think he is very strong with the ball, he can dribble and he is a great combiner. In attack he is very good in all facets. Physically he is strong and fast and in defense he is good in one against one,” he said.

”He has to improve in his positioning and in aerial duels. He has a lot of great qualities and is a hard worker. I think he will continue to improve and I am sure he will be one of the great players of Barcelona.

“I am amazed at how calm he is. He likes music a lot but beyond that and being a person who, due to his age, is still developing his personality, I am struck by how calm he is.”

New manager Ronald Koeman has already said he won’t be afraid to put Dest into his team if he feels the new arrival is ready, and he will be hoping to make his first start after the international break against Getafe.
