Araujo hopeful of making swift Barcelona return

The defender picked up an injury against Granada
Ronald Araujo is reportedly optimistic he can make a swift return from injury and is even hopeful he could feature against Real Sociedad on Wednesday in the Spanish Super Cup if needed.
The Uruguayan missed Saturday’s win over Granada after picking up a hamstring strain in the warm-up and was replaced by Samuel Umtiti.
Barcelona confirmed the injury on Sunday but didn’t say how long they expect the defender to be sidelined.

According to Sport, Araujo has been in touch with the club’s medical staff to let them know he’s feeling good and that he’s optimistic he could play later this week.
Barca are due to train on Monday and Tuesday before the match against Real Sociedad which does give Araujo time to prove his fitness.
Yet there seems absolutely no point in rushing Araujo back for the game and risking further injury, particularly as Clement Lenglet will be available again after suspension as well as Oscar Mingueza and Samuel Umtiti.
