Araujo talks bouncing back from Eibar mistake
‘You can’t keep a mistake in your head’
Ronald Araujo has discussed how he’s been trying to improve after his error against Eibar earlier this season in La Liga.
The center-back was at fault in the 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou straight after Christmas when his mistake allowed Kike García to run through on goal and score.
Araujo has bounced back well from that match and says he’s working hard to improve his game.
“After that I worked even more on controlling faster. We play every three days and you can’t keep a mistake in your head. In the following games I think I showed that that mistake didn’t influence me much.
“I consider myself as a player who likes to work a lot. I analyze all my games and all the competitors, especially when things are not going well. And if I have to stay for a while after training, I’ll stay because I think it’s key to improve.
“The character thing is something that I have as a child. Imposing, helping the team. I like to talk on the pitch, I’m talking the whole game. It’s a way of being more focused, and that I think helps me me and also the team.”

The Uruguayan has enjoyed plenty of game time while Gerard Pique’s been out with injury, although he was forced to miss the win over Granada due to a hamstring strain. However, he has been included in the squad for the Spanish Super Cup and could be set for a swift return.
