Barca ‘optimistic’ Ansu Fati can return against PSG - report
The teenager is on the way back from knee surgery
Barcelona are reportedly hopeful that Ansu Fati will be back in time to play in the club’s Champions League last 16 tie with Paris Saint-Germain.
The teenager has been out since undergoing knee surgery in November and was initially ruled out for four months following his operation.
Yet his recovery seems to be going well and the club are “optimistic” he could play some part against PSG, according to journalist Marcelo Bechler.
It still seems unlikely Fati will be fit for the first leg at the Camp Nou, scheduled for February 16, but he may be in contention for the return in Paris on March 10.
Of course, Barca won’t want to rush Fati back and risk a relapse but his return will be a big boost to Ronald Koeman and his side.
Fati started the season well, scoring five times and picking up two assists before he was forced on to the sidelines. He was also named September’s player of the month for La Liga.
