The Dutchman has praised his new team-mate

Frenkie de Jong took time out to praise new team-mate Pedri ahead of Barcelona’s Spanish Super Cup clash with Real Sociedad on Wednesday.

The Netherlands midfielder attended the pre-match press conference along with coach Ronald Koeman and was asked for his thoughts on the 18-year-old midfielder.

“I think Pedri has a lot of talent and a lot of quality. In my opinion he’s a crack.”

The midfielders are the only two Barcelona players to feature in every La Liga game this season, with De Jong finding some good form in recent games.

The Dutchman was asked about his improved performances and admitted he’s feeling good after being asked to play in a more advanced role.

“I feel good at the moment. In the last matches I’ve been playing in a different position, and the coach is asking me for a little more in attack. I feel very comfortable.”

De Jong scored the winner when Barcelona beat Real Sociedad 2-1 back in December at the Camp Nou with his first goal of the season.
