Koeman says he has ‘nothing against’ Riqui Puig

The midfielder came on as a second-half substitute
Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman offered his thoughts on Riqui Puig after Barcelona’s 4-0 win over Granada on Saturday.
The midfielder was handed the last 17 minutes at Los Carmenes and once again put in another bright performance off the bench that makes you wonder why he doesn’t play more often.
Koeman was unsurprisingly asked about the youngster after the match and insisted he doesn’t have a problem with the midfielder despite his reluctance to use him this season.
“I have nothing against Riqui Puig,” he said.
“We have very young players like Konrad, Matheus and Junior who don’t have many minutes, but you always think I’m talking about Riqui.
“I have no problem with him, we talk often. His future? He has to decide.”

The Barca boss seemed to be referring specifically to Friday’s press conference when he reiterated his belief that youngsters who aren’t playing should go out on loan. Koeman didn’t mention any names but, perhaps unsurprisingly, plenty of headlines followed about Riqui.
