Memphis says he feels good at Lyon after months of Barca flirting

The Dutchman doesn’t look like moving in January

Memphis Depay and Barcelona are sort of an assumed item at this point. We know the deal didn’t happen this past summer, but it became assumed he would be moving to Barcelona and Ronald Koeman sooner rather than later.

Well, Depay has now offered an update and said that he is happy at Lyon and dismissed Barca talks.

“I’m focussed on what I’m doing with Lyon. I don’t want to make a decision yet because I feel good here. I don’t want to create a mess. We’ve got a good team, I like the president, we’ll see what happens.”

“But the president and I know what happened in the past four seasons. We’ll carry on enjoying things as they are until the end of the season. All I’m thinking about is Saturday’s game. That’s all I’m going to say.”

A January move to the Camp Nou certainly looks difficult due to the club’s finances and the presidential elections. Lyon sporting director Juninho also insisted recently he doesn’t want to let any of his key players leave this month.
