Joan Laporta has had a pretty busy day back at the club after being elected Barcelona president on Sunday night.

The 58-year-old spent some of his first day in the new job going to visit the first-team, Barca B and Barcelona Femeni at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Laporta is expected to travel with the first-team to Paris for their Champions League match and has already been doing his best to motivate the players.

According to AS, the new president has told the dressing room: “I believe in the comeback and I know you are capable of doing it, but above all I know for sure that we are going to compete there.”

Laporta has also been talking to the Barca B players and is hoping to see them promoted to the first team in the future.

According to Sport, he said: “I want to see you in the first team. The more players, the better, I want to see a lot of you be promoted.”

Players such as Oscar Mingueza and Ilaix Moriba have made the step up this season, while other talents such as Alex Collado, Alex Balde and Konrad de la Fuente have also been tipped for big things at the Camp Nou.
