Pique injures right knee, likely missing PSG match
The defender is sidelined again
Ah, the injury bug bites yet again. This time around it's Gerard Pique. The defender injured his right knee in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Sevilla on Wednesday, likely meaning he’s out for the Paris Saint-Germain Champions League match next Wednesday.
The specifics around the injury are that he “sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee” according to Barcelona. The timeline around his return is unclear at this point.

However, I think it's safe to say that with Pique’s injury history and his age, a quick turnaround on even a slight knee sprain will be longer than a week. Early reports suggest it’s probably going to be around 2-3 weeks.
The injury comes with Ronald Araujo still not back in full training yet after injuring his ankle against Sevilla at the weekend. Meaning yet again, Barcelona are going to be scrapping around the cupboard for defensive help next week in Paris. Yay.
