Ronald Araujo injured again, misses match vs. Sevilla
The Barcelona defender’s return to playing was cut short
Ronald Araujo will not be able to play tonight’s Copa del Rey match against Sevilla, after the defender was injured once again.
The Uruguayan was injured during last week’s clash against Sevilla in La Liga, having just recently returned from injury. His left ankle is causing him pain, and thus he was ruled out of the upcoming match.
Araujo’s absence will be felt by FC Barcelona, who have needed him to try to help their sometimes-leaky defense.
On the other hand, Pedri has recovered extremely fast (the sports pages are calling it “miraculous”) and should be available for Ronald Koeman.
Barcelona lost the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal against Sevilla by a score of 2-0. Last week, they defeated the same team in La Liga 2-0 with the aid of goals from Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembélé.
Such a score, if it were to repeat in Barcelona’s favor, would push the game to extra time, and eventually, penalties.
