The Dutch midfielder was reportedly offered to Bayern, but the Germans have refused

Georginio Wijnaldum continues to be linked with a summer move to Barcelona on a free transfer from Liverpool, and it seems as though the Blaugrana are one step closer to completing the move.

According to German outlet Abendzeitung, Bayern Munich have recently been offered the services of the 30-year-old midfielder but have no interest in signing the player due to his age and high salary demands.

Bayern still want to strengthen the midfield as they look for a future star in the position, and the report says their main target is Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Florian Neuhaus, although a deal could be difficult as Gladbach will ask for a high transfer fee for one of the best young players in the Bundesliga.

The rumors of Wijnaldum moving to Barça have been going on ever since Ronald Koeman arrived, with the manager keen on once again working with the national team captain. There have been conflicting reports on whether or not Barça still have an interest in Wijnaldum, with Joan Laporta allegedly considering other targets for the position.
