The duo are back from injury and in the squad

Barcelona duo Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto have both been passed fit ahead of Saturday’s trip to Real Madrid in La Liga.

Roberto has been back in training for a while after a recurrence of a thigh problem and was expected to make the squad, while Pique was rated touch and go at the start of the week.

However, the 34-year-old is back after picking up another knee problem in the Copa del Rey win over Sevilla last month and took part in full training on Friday.

Coach Ronald Koeman now has some pretty big decisions to make over his backline for what is a crunch match against Los Blancos.

The Dutchman threw Pique straight back into the team against PSG after injury earlier in the season but it’s not clear if he will do the same again, particularly as Ronald Araujo is also available.

It does seem likely that Pique or Araujo will feature which should mean that Frenkie de Jong returns to midfield. It will also be interesting to see what Koeman does with Sergi Roberto and if he goes straight back into the team or has to settle for a place on the bench.
