Aguero was ruled out of Sunday’s Gamper Trophy with the problem and underwent a scan on Monday morning which showed the severity of the injury, according to AS. The report states that the scan shows Aguero has suffered “a tendon tear in the inner calf.”
It’s another blow for Barca just a day after waving an emotional goodbye to Lionel Messi and will fuel concerns over Aguero’s fitness. The 33-year-old missed large chunks of last season with Manchester City due to injury before making the move to the Camp Nou.
There has also been speculation the Argentine was unhappy at the club after Messi’s exit but he’s moved to play down those rumors. He told reporters on Saturday, “Don’t worry, you have me all year long,”
