Barca still need €40m, willing to sell players in January
We could be set for an interesting window
Barcelona are reportedly still searching for funding in January which means the club will listen to offers for players when the January transfer window opens.
Relevo are reporting that Barcelona need around 40 million euros which had been expected to arrive from German investment firm Libero but still has not been paid.
Barcelona now don’t expect the funding to arrive and are looking for other investors instead. Failing that, the club are also willing to sell players.
The report namechecks Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde and Andreas Christensen, although it’s hard to see any of those players moving on.
The trio have all regularly said they are happy at Barcelona and are key members of Xavi’s first-team squad.
Raphinha’s name has also cropped up recently once again, but the Brazilian has also previously insisted he doesn’t want to go anywhere.
You suspect clubs in Saudi Arabia may be watching the situation with some interest, and it will be interesting to see what happens if offers for key players do arrive next month.
