Marc Guiu is set to make a final decision on his future at Barcelona amid strong interest from Premier League side Chelsea.
The striker is said to be in “advanced talks” with the Blues, who are willing to pay his €6 million release clause, but hasn’t completely made up his mind just yet.
ESPN are reporting that Barca could “make one last attempt to keep the young striker” by offering him a contract extension to stay in Catalunya.
Over in Spain there’s also talk that Guiu is still thinking things through. He is said to be tempted by Chelsea’s offer but having doubts about leaving.
Guiu is planning to discuss the situation with his family before deciding on his next move.
Meanwhile, Diario Sport say Guiu has told his team-mates he’s thinking about going and wants guarantees about first-team football if he is to stay.
Guiu did play for the first-team last season, but not since March, and knows he has Robert Lewandowski, Vitor Roque and Ferran Torres ahead of him in the pecking order.
A deal to move to Chelsea is not done just yet, but it’s looking increasingly likely Barca could lose a really promising player for a small fee.
