Barcelona to pocket tidy sum as Todibo joins West Ham
The defender has moved to the Premier League
Barcelona’s finances have received a boost as former defender Jean-Clair Todibo has completed a move to West Ham United.
Todibo was linked with a transfer to Juventus but has opted to join the Premier League side instead on a season-long loan from Nice.
However, the deal also includes a mandatory purchase option of €40 million, meaning Barca are set to collect around €8m from his move.

The 24-year-old joins the Hammers from Ligue 1 club OGC Nice on an initial season-long loan, with an option to make the transfer permanent in summer 2025.
Barcelona initially signed Todibo in 2019 on a free transfer from Toulouse. Yet the defender moved on to Nice after a loan spell. The French club activated a clause in his contract to sign him for an initial €8.5m, with Barca also withholding a percentage of any future sale.
That has now been activated by Todibo’s move to East London, meaning Barca will now pocket another tidy sum for the defender next summer when the deal is made permanent. With finances still an issue at Barca, it’s a move that will be warmly welcomed in Catalunya.
