Some revealing comments from the midfielder

Pedri has had plenty to say over the international break after linking up with the Spain squad and has given another interview where he’s been talking about Hansi Flick’s influence at Barcelona.

The Spain star says that Barcelona are “working much harder” than before and says the results are starting to show on the pitch.

“We are working much harder at the club than before. I think the physical trainers who have come in are doing us a lot of good,” he told Mundo Deportivo.

“We work very hard and that shows in the game. The team doesn’t let up after the 70th or 80th minute, but rather maintains its physical level.”

Flick is known to demand intensity and hard work from his players, and it’s a theme that was also picked up on by Joan Laporta earlier this week.

The Barca president spoke about how the new boss was unhappy with one particular aspect of his team during pre-season.

“When we played against City in pre-season and won, I asked Flick if he was happy with what he saw, he said ‘no’ because the players had only pressed until the 70th minute,” he said.

Flick’s methods certainly seem to be paying off at the moment. Barca have made a perfect start to the season with four wins out of four in La Liga.
