The intensity is showing

Barcelona’s win over Bayern Munich saw the Catalans end a poor run against the Bavarian giants and grab revenge for some painful European nights.

Raphinha was the hero with a hat-trick, while Robert Lewandowski scored against ex-employers and manager Hansi Flick also enjoyed his reunion with his former team.

And one telling stat has emerged in the wake of the win that highlights Flick’s impact on Barcelona since arriving in the summer, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona players covered a total of 126.55 kilometres during the match, eclipsing their rivals who managed just 120.58km.

More interestingly, Barcelona’s numbers are far higher than in their previous two meetings with Bayern when they managed 118.59km and 117.8km.

Even more interestingly, it’s a massive upgrade on the 8-2 defeat to Bayern when Barcelona players covered just 98km - a massive 28km less than on Wednesday night.

Flick is well known for demanding a high tempo and great intensity from his players, and the team certainly put in a shift both on and off the ball last night.
