The road to recovery starts here

Barcelona have confirmed that goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has begun his rehabilitation work at the Ciutat Esportiva following his knee operation.

Ter Stegen went under the knife in September after sustaining a complete rupture to the patella tendon in his right knee.

However, the goalkeeper has now been spotted back at the club as he begins the long road back to full fitness.

Ter Stegen is still expected to be out for the long-term and may not play again for Barcelona this season.

Inaki Pena and Wojciech Szczesny will battle for the No. 1 spot in his absence, with young Diego Kochen also being tipped to be part of the first-team squad.

In the meantime Barcelona will simply be hoping that Ter Stegen can make a full recovery from what’s been a really devastating injury and then return to the first-team set-up once he’s ready to play again.
