Wojciech Szczęsny is reportedly making a good impression at Barcelona after coming out of retirement to join the Catalan giants.
Relevo are reporting that Barcelona are “delighted” with the form he’s shown on the training ground and are surprised by his abilities.
One source told the outlet that “he is at a very good level,” while it’s claimed “what a goalkeeper” has been heard shouted about Szczesny on the training pitch.
The former Juve star was working with a physical trainer over the summer which seems to have helped, with Robert Lewandowski having previously said he’ll only need a couple of weeks to be ready.
Hansi Flick has given his available players a couple of days off now to rest, but Szczesny will stay in training as he eyes a first-team debut.
Barcelona head to Sevilla next with Szczesny likely to be in the squad. It still seems likely Inkai Pena will start that match, but Szczesny is now pushing for a spot in the team.
