The midfielder is not worried about his status

When Barcelona announced their new mega-deal with Nike last week, it looked as though all of their financial issues had been solved and things would run smoothly again in regards to their infamous player registration issues.

But a new report from Catalan media claims the Catalans are still €50 million short in their accounts for this season, and could risk losing new signing Dani Olmo for the rest of the season because of it.

Olmo’s registration runs only through December 31st, and his status must be resolved by the end of January to ensure he can play La Liga matches for the entire 2024-25 campaign. Dani was asked about the situation in an interview this week, and he sounded pretty optimistic that the club will find a way to have him available.

“I have blind faith in the club, they know what they have to do and I’m focused on just playing. I can play right now and I’m sure I’ll be able to when January arrives. I’m not worried, I have complete trust in the club.”

Olmo is only currently registered because of Andreas Christensen’s injury to begin with, but the Danish defender will return before the end of December which makes Olmo’s situation pretty dicey.

Dani’s amazing start to his Blaugrana career makes it crucial that his status is resolved as soon as possible, and soon enough Barça fans will have a real reason to panic if there are no positive updates on the situation.
