The midfielder is hoping for better in January

Marc Casado has broken into the first team this season at Barcelona but has admitted he still has a lot to learn.

The 21-year-old has told Mundo Deportivo there is one area in particular where he wants to sharpen up under Hansi Flick.

“There is always room for improvement in everything. Both individually and as a team we have things to improve and personally I would say that I need to improve my scoring.

“Sometimes my teammates even joke that I never score a goal. Hopefully in 2025 I will get one.”

Casado has also revealed how talks regularly with Flick during games to ask his coach for advice, particularly when he feels all is not well.

“We talk a lot, because when I see that the team feels uncomfortable on the pitch, I go to talk to him to find out what he thinks needs to be changed or what we need to be more comfortable,” he added.

“He asks me above all to be well positioned, to be intense and to organize the team a bit.”

Barcelona will start the new year hoping to end a run of bad form and Casado admits the team have plenty to think about over the festive break.

“I think it gives us something to think about. And I think that the important thing is, above all, to correct these errors that have killed us a bit in these last few league games and to know what we are doing wrong in order to change it,” he added.

Flick’s side will be expected to make a winning start in 2025 as they take on Barbastro in the Copa del Rey first.
