‘Quite a challenge’ - Szczesny make telling admission after Barca win
The goalkeeper’s time at the club has been eventful
Wojciech Szczęsny has admitted that his first six months at Barcelona have been “quite a challenge” after producing an error-strewn performance against Benfica.
The goalkeeper, who was also sent off against Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final, spoke about his time at the club so far after the 5-4 victory in the Champions League.
“I don’t want to look back because there is still a long way to go in the Champions League. There are fantastic teams and we must be at our best if we want to be competitive,” he told Movistar.
“These last six months have been quite a challenge for me, but I can say that I am very happy with the decision to come to Barcelona.”
Hansi Flick defended Sczesny after the match and said “we win together and we lose together.” However, he’s likely to recall Inaki Pena for Barcelona’s next game against Valencia in La Liga.
