The Bavarians are happy with their backline

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund appears to have confirmed the club are no longer interested in signing Jonathan Tah this summer from Bayer Leverkusen.

Tah has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, but Bayern were also thought to be in the running for the defender.

However, it seems that is no longer the case at all. Freund was asked about Tah at the weekend and came up with the following response.

“That is not an issue for us at the moment,” he told ransport.

“You can see that our defense is doing well at the moment. We are conceding few goals. That is why we are very, very happy.”

The news suggests it’s even more likely that Tah will head to Barcelona once his contract at Leverkusen expires in the summer.

However, departures may be needed first with Andreas Christensen and Eric Garcia potentially set for summer exits.
