Barca eyeing Verbruggen as potential Ter Stegen successor

The goalkeeper has caught the eye
Barcelona have reportedly added Netherlands international Bart Verbruggen to their list of goalkeeping targets.
According to Diario Sport, Barcelona aren’t in a rush to sign a new stopper but are looking at potential options for the future.
It’s also claimed that Verbruggen was watched by Barcelona during Spain’s recent Nations League quarter-finals against the Netherlands.
The Dutchman is still only 22 and is said to be a perfect fit. He’s tall, good with his feet and has bags of potential.
Verbruggen has a contract with Brighton until 2028 but it’s thought that Barcelona could make a move for a new goalkeeper in 2026.
The Catalans are set to extend Wojciech Szczęsny in the summer for another year, while Marc-Andre ter Stegen is due back from a serious injury in the coming weeks.
In the short-term Barcelona won’t move for a goalkeeper, but it it seems thoughts are already turning to how to replace 32-year-old Ter Stegen.
