It’s not impossible

Barcelona are set to play Osasuna in La Liga next Thursday in a game which Ronald Araujo and Raphinha are expected to miss due to international duty.

The game has been rearranged after being postponed following the tragic passing of first-team doctor Carles Minarro Garcia but the new date doesn’t suit either team.

Yet there is a glimmer of hope that Araujo could be available for the game next week.

Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Araujo will play in Uruguay’s World Cup qualifier against Argentina tomorrow but may not feature against Bolivia on Tuesday.

The reason is that the game will be played at altitude in Bolivia and Marcelo Bielsa may make changes to his team to cope with the conditions.

The theory is that the Uruguay boss will “prioritize young, fast players capable of handling the brutal demands of the match” and could give Araujo a breather.

If it emerges that Aruajo’s not going to play then he could return from international duty early and, potentially, be available to face Osasauna next Thursday.
