Barca or Newcastle? Garcia has ‘two options’

Another update from the rumor mill.....
Joan Garcia’s future continues to make the headlines as speculation continues to rage over the goalkeeper’s future.
Barcelona are keen on bringing him in this summer, and it seems he hasn’t ruled out a move to the Catalan giants just yet.
According to journalist Xavi Espinosa, Garcia now has just two options on the table after Manchester City decided to focus on Diogo Costa instead.
The Espanyol stopper must now decide between Newcastle and Barcelona, as they are the two options that suit him the best.
Newcastle are looking for a new stopper to replace ageing goalkeepers Nick Pope and Martin Dubravka. They’re coming off a good season too, having won the Carabao Cup and qualified for the Champions League.
Any club interested in signing Garcia will have to pay his €25 million release clause, with sporting director Fran Garagarza confirming the club aren’t interested in a negotiation.
“There hasn’t been any official approach from any club. I think we have a top-level asset, a player who’s from Espanyol, who’s top-notch both personally and professionally. And we’re relaxed.
“Any club interested in Joan knows there’s a figure. We already proved it with another player in the summer of my arrival, and this doesn’t have to be any different. He’s worth it.”
