The next Barcelona match is upon us! The Blaugrana face city rivals Espanyol with a chance to clinch the La Liga title, and Hansi Flick has called up the following 22 players for Thursday’s clash:
Goalkeepers: 1. Marc-André ter Stegen, 13. Iñaki Peña, 25. Wojciech Szczesny
Defenders: 2. Pau Cubarsí, 3. Alejandro Balde, 4. Ronald Araujo, 15. Andreas Christensen, 24. Eric García, 32. Héctor Fort, 35. Gerard Martín
Midfielders: 6. Gavi, 8. Pedri, 14. Pablo Torre, 16. Fermín López, 17. Marc Casadó, 20. Dani Olmo, 21. Frenkie de Jong
Forwards: 9. Robert Lewandowski, 10. Ansu Fati, 11. Raphinha, 18. Pau Víctor, 19. Lamine Yamal
There are no fresh injury concerns following the win over Real Madrid at the weekend, but there is one confirmed absence as Iñigo Martínez is out due to suspension for yellow card accumulation. Also missing out through injury are Jules Kounde (hamstring) and Marc Bernal (knee), and Ferran Torres is expected to miss the final three games of the season after undergoing emergency appendicitis surgery. There is good news, however, as Pablo Torre is back after missing the last couple of games with a knee problem, while Pau Cubarsí is named in the squad after recovering from the stomach bug that caused him to be replaced early in the second half in El Clásico.
Predicted starting XI (4-2-3-1):
Szczesny; Eric, Christensen, Cubarsí, Balde; De Jong, Pedri; Yamal, Fermín, Raphinha; Lewandowski
The match kicks off at 9.30pm CET (Barcelona), 8.30pm BST/WAT (UK & Nigeria), 3.30pm ET, 12.30pm PT (USA), 1am IST (India, Friday), and you can join us to follow and comment all the action.
