What next?

Ansu Fati remains in a difficult position at Barcelona and is regularly being linked with a summer exit after struggling for game time under Hansi Flick.

The latest club to show an interest are apparently Monaco, with Mundo Deportivo claiming the Ligue 1 side are keen.

Deco has been asked about the situation with regards ins and out and told RAC1 “I don’t think any player would ask to leave.”

He was also asked about Ansu Fati in particular and had the following to say:

“In football, there are no delicate situations; football is what it is. First, he had a spectacular start, then the injuries hit, he went on loan to Brighton, he had a great preseason because we wanted him back, and then the injury hit,” he told RAC1.

“Everyone makes their own analysis of what they want in their career; if they think he needs more minutes, we’ll talk about it. He’s a player who has a contract with us, and we’re happy with him. If he wants to improve, we’ll talk.”

Fati had hoped for another chance this season under Flick but it really hasn’t happened. He’s made just three starts all season long but it’s difficult to see that changing if he does stay.
