Hansi Flick is doing his best to keep Lamine Yamal grounded after a dazzling performance against Inter in the Champions League.
Yamal shone in the 3-3 draw and was widely hailed for his influential performance.
Flick was asked about the teenager ahead of Barca's game against Real Valladolid and says the teenager may be a genius but he still has to work hard.
“He knows what I want from him. When you’re capable of playing at that level, you have to prove it again. It’s not just about one game," he told reporters.
“All players have the potential to improve. It’s not just about talent and genius, but also effort.
“When you want to reach the level of Ronaldo, Messi, and the greats, you have to stay calm and see what happens.
“But we’re very happy that he’s playing with us and that he’s at this level. But we know he has to work hard to stabilize at this level and improve even more. It doesn’t end here.”
Flick will hope Yamal can help fire Barcelona into the Champions League final, but before that it's a trip to La Liga's bottom side.
