Yamal’s contract details revealed after Barca star signs on until 2031

Some big numbers are involved
Lamine Yamal has put pen to paper on a new contract at Barcelona that will keep him at the Catalan giants until 2031.
It’s great news for Barcelona and follows on from a season where Yamal has firmly established himself as the most exciting talent on the planet.
There was talk ahead of the renewal that Yamal’s camp had asked Barca to make him the highest-paid player in the squad. Deco denied those claims but details of Yamal’s new deal have now been revealed in a report from The Athletic.
Yamal was earning a base salary last season of around €3m a year but, as you can imagine, that’s set to rise massively with his new deal which is said to come into effect now and now when he turns 18 this summer.
The teenager’s new base salary is now set at around €30m a year before tax, but he does have the potential to earn more than that through “performance-related bonuses and signing bonuses.”
Indeed the report states that Yamal’s total salary (including all bonuses and signing-on extras) will be around €40m a year before tax which will indeed make him Barca’s top earner.
Robert Lewandowski is currently the highest-paid player in the squad and will earn around €36m next season as he goes into the last year of his contract.
