Virgili, Farre, and Hernández drop down to Barca Atletic for pre-season
The trio won’t be on the US tour
Jan Virgili, Landry Farre, and Juan Hernández have all started pre-season with Juliano Belletti’s Barcelona Atletic after spending last week with the first team.
The trio were part of a host of youngsters working out with Hansi Flick’s side but have now joined up with Barca Atletic, meaning they won’t be part of the senior squad’s pre-season tour to Asia.
Jofre Torrents and Dro Fernandez are expected to be on the plane, while there are still several other teenagers still in the mix.
Here’s Barcelona’s official statement:
“Several players have continued to train with the first team since last week. Guillermo, Toni Fernández, Jofre Torrents, Pedro Fernández and Roony, who joined this summer from Copenhagen, are the players who continue under Hansi Flick’s orders, while Jan Virigili, Landry and Juan Hernández have joined the start of pre-season with Barça Atlètic. It should be remembered that Ibrahim Diarra started pre-season with the first team but is out due to a muscle tear in the anterior rectus of his right leg.”
Barcelona Atletic are due to hold their first training session this afternoon and will train for the rest of the week before heading to Vall d’En Bas where they will play two friendlies in their week-long stay.
