What Flick told Rashford ahead of Barcelona move

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick reportedly spoke at length with Marcus Rashford before the forward agreed to make the move to Manchester United.
Rashford has been eager to join the Catalan giants this summer but certainly wasn’t the club’s first choice when it came to strengthening the team’s attack.
Yet it seems that Flick was always in favor of the Manchester United forward arriving, although he did have plenty of advice for the club’s new arrival.
According to Diario Sport, Flick has already warned Rashford he needs to improve his “defensive attitude” at Barcelona in the coming campaign.
The German coach has also warned Rashford he will have to earn his place in the team, telling the England star that Barca “work like a machine” and making it clear every player must defend and take responsibility on the pitch.
During his time at Manchester United, Rashford was often accused of downing tools by fans who became frustrated with a perceived lack of effort when it came to tracking back and helping out his team-mates.
Yet Flick is known for his strict approach and will likely have left Rashford in no doubt about his responsibilities at Barca and what he must do if he is to be a success during his loan spell at the club.
