Barcelona handed Robert Lewandowski fitness boost ahead of Levante clash

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is reportedly ahead of schedule in his recovery from a hamstring injury and is expected to be available to face Levante on Saturday.

Lewandowski has missed the start of the season after picking up a minor issue in training and was expected to miss around three weeks.

According to AS, Lewandowski is recovering more quickly than expected and, provided there are no setbacks this week, he will be available to face Levante.

The news will be a boost to Hansi Flick who saw all three of his starting forwards score against Real Mallorca in Saturday’s opener.

Raphinha opened the scoring for the visitors, Ferran Torres bagged goal No. 2 and Lamine Yamal came up with a a wonderful effort late on to open his account for the new campaign.

Meanwhile, Levante kicked off their campaign this weekend but went down 2-1 to Alaves, with Nahuel Tenaglia scoring the winner deep into stoppage time.
