Barcelona to make ‘drastic decision’ and strip Marc-Andre ter Stegen of captaincy – report

Barcelona are reportedly planning to strip Marc-Andre ter Stegen of his captaincy at the club due to his stance over his medical report.
Catalunya Radio are reporting that Barcelona are making the “drastic decision” to take the armband away from the Germany international due to the ongoing saga.
The club has apparently called on Hansi Flick to take the captaincy away as the feeling is that Ter Stegen simply cannot be part of the leadership group due to his current stance.
Flick was asked about the captaincy issue recently and insisted he didn’t want to get involved. He told reporters: “The team is always the one who decides the captains, as has been done in the past. Usually two weeks before the start of the season.”
Several first team stars have tipped Ter Stegen to continue with the armband during the tour of Asia, but it seems the decision may be about to be taken out of the players’ hands now.
