Barcelona keen on €80m-rated Premier League defender

Barcelona are being credited with interest in Nottingham Forest’s Brazilian defender Murillo, who has been impressing in the Premier League.

A new report from Caught Offside states that Barcelona and Arsenal are “among the leading admirers” for the 23-year-old center-back.

Barcelona reportedly see Murillo as a good successor to Inigo Martinez, who left the club in a surprise move this summer and joined Al-Nassr.

Nottingham Forest are said to value Murillo at around  €70-80 million, although it’s not clear if Arsenal or Barcelona would be willing to shell out that amount for the Brazilian.

Chelsea, predictably, are also credited with an interest in Murillo and had an offer for the defender rejected earlier this year.

Murillo is contracted to Nottingham Forest until 2029, after signing a new four-and-a-half year contract in January, but does appear to have plenty of admirers if he fancies a new challenge.
